Shooting Day 10 -- Stardate: July 30th 1947 (actual shooting date Feb. 19th, 2005)

Yes, you read that correctly, July 30th 1947.

What?

Can't a dude go back in time to film his movie?!! Huh, you guys got something AGAINST time travel now???

Seriously, we did end up filming two days in a row (3 if you count the Wonder-Con Panel heeheeheee) but the next night was very unexpected, and quite a cool surprise....

After shooting the night before we got to bed at 3 am or so once again and got up around 7 ish a.m. so Val could transform into movie Lara, she had to go get her hair all did, and look pimp-ified for the Con today and the panel tomorrow.

We go to the awesome salon of Carol and her assistant Adrienne, and for the first time I see (and film) what Val goes through to transform into movie Lara.

Val's hair is getting much longer (growing it out for our movie) but her hair is quite the long lengths of Lara's, hell, not many peoples are.....but this girl takes it very seriously.... in fact, Val takes a lot of things seriously, she is probably seriously considering how to be serious next time....

Just kidding she's a whole fun o beans....

But when it comes to this movie, she's almost or more passionate than me, and that says a lot, cause I don't have a girlfriend, so I gotta be passionate about something....and right now, this movie is it....

One hour later, Val is transformed....I especially like how the ultra cool Carol totally bagged on the hair piece for the Paramount Tomb Raider flick and how it looked really cheesy...and how is Val was gonna look wayyy better....(and it does !)

Well, Carol mentions how it's there will be a Chinese New Year parade, literally right around the corner from where we are staying at the hotel....holy crap....CHINESE new year parade...

I look at Val, she looks at me, we do that weird ass telepathy thing that only psychics do and some weird smelly kid in my fifth grade class did, and smile real big like....

See our movie (for those taking notes) is HEAVILY into the whole Chinese thing, I mean, Lara takes on the son of a Triad (Chinese Mafia) so this would work perfectly for what we wanted to do...

Plus Val could show off her hair....

We could FILM her, dressed as movie Lara walking around the parade !!! Our movie would seem THAT much bigger.....

Talk about some cool stuff....just wait till you see some of it...so much of it, we can't use it all...better to over shoot than under shoot though.....

And there was this fantastic alley way, straight out of Angel of Darkness, that we had Val walk down all total bad ass in the movie out fit....'

We modified the movie out fit slightly by having her wear military pants, instead of shorts (cause who would wear shorts when sneaking around a warehouse) and added a long black trench coat.

While filming this one girl truly thought Val was Angelina Jolie...for a second there, so did I...

This parade wasn't easy to film, SOOO many people, too many hard shots to get, one time Val has to literally pick me up so I could get a shot and others, I had to sit on top of Gary's shoulders....

We were constantly running around, crossing the streets (which is next to impossible in a parade) and tripping over people to get shots, never knowing what could happen....it was more intense filmmaking....but it was once again worth it....

In fact, so far, this whole journey has been worth it, I've met some amazing people and can't wait to finish this film to see how it all comes together....

Next up we will shoot the explosion in the desert......oh, and G4 t.v. wants to be there when we do it...very nice...

Until next time, keep the cameras rolling....
