Hey, I am making the Tomb Raider (Movie 1) Holsters out of Vinyl, but I need a base to cover with the Vinyl. I have heard of people using metal (which im pretty sure the movie ones are made out of, same as Kropserkel), cardstock, EVEN cardboard! But I am serious about this and I won't be using any cardstock or cardboard. Although I would be willing to use metal because they wouldn't break or bend! I watched TOTD about 3 times and paused to study the holsters several times. Aswell as TR1&COD (hehe). I noticed the holsters in all THREE movies are the same! (Now I'm talking about the holsters, not the garters, color, or buckle) TOTD obviously does not have the money as Paramount does, and I know I don't either, so the holsters in TOTD are obviously not the ones from the movie or made by Lindy Hemming. I did however find this metal clay stuff that you can shape and heat with a torch and it turns into metal... But that would be very hard to get each holster even and perfect. Also, the holsters (in all 3 movies) don't have any straps holding the dual pistols in place, So how exactly are the pistols so secure? I was thinking, maybe super strong little magnets inbetween the metal and vinyl (or leather) and inside the pistols' frame? I've had these questions for years and never knew who to ask for the answers! Thanks! (I was going to ask Kropserkel, But if you look closely at the movie's holsters and Kropserkel's, there is slight differences and I want exact replicas)

How are the pistols so secure? A small added strap that snaps into place. I'll see if I can find a photo...

Best of luck with your project. Hope you let us know how it turns out :D

I will! Well I'm going to make the holsters as closee to the movie's as possible, then reproduce them in black and brown and maybe sell them! Along with gas powered airsofts. Uhmm, yes I can see how a strap would hold, but what I don't see is Jolie fixing her little strap ever time she wants to shoot somebody then put the guns back. Lol! I see you had your holsters done by Kropserkel, I bought the belt buckle from a guy who works for them, but they don't share their secrets! OR sell the costume anymore!! Rude!!! Do you have annyy idea on how to make the holsters so quick-release/secure? For example on TR:COL (tr2) in one of the fight scenes Jolie quickly throws the pistol in the holster and a second later is flipped upside down on a rope without the gun even slipping! I also watched the training for that scene, Jolie was hanging upside down for what she said was hours, and I tried getting a close up on the holster and it looked the same as the movie, no closeur, nothing. hmm.... mystery! Your holsters looked fantastic in the movie, though! Kind of why I'm asking you! Everyone else's look cheap (laughs)!

I found this! Maybe it'll help?
